Mixed Media: Oil, Wax & Natural Pigments
My practice explores the intersection of neuroscience, emotion, and the human spirit through a movement I have pioneered: NeuroConscious Art
This approach seeks to translate the invisible architecture of consciousness into a visual language—one that speaks to both the intellect and the soul.
With a 22-year background as a neuroscientist, my understanding of the brain’s emotional and perceptual processes forms the foundation of my work.
I use mixed media—oil paint, wax, and natural pigments—to create pieces that are both visceral and meditative. These materials allow for a depth of texture, luminosity, and organic presence that aligns with the layered, internal landscapes I seek to express.
Each painting emerges from a process that is both intuitive and rigorously informed. Rather than depicting the external world, I am concerned with revealing the inner one—the energetic, emotional, and often ineffable dimensions of human experience.
My work is a response to the question: What does consciousness feel like when it is made visible?
A pivotal period in my life—undergoing cancer treatment—deepened my belief in art as a form of healing and a way to reconnect to soul. That experience continues to inform my work as I explore the restorative potential of image, material, and process.
I consider my paintings as portals: spaces of reflection, presence, and expansion. For collectors and institutions, they offer more than aesthetic value—they represent a merging of science and spirit, discipline and intuition, the seen and the unseen.
